What Helium Shortage?
After two years of industry shortage, B-Loony can now supply as much helium balloon gas as you want.
During the summer the UK’s Balloon Association, which represents the party and promotional balloon industry, reported that helium prices were on the rise and that supplies of the gas were at a low.
However, after the summer shortage, B-Loony have now secured supplies for all their customers who wish to use helium balloon gas to inflate promotional balloons.
Helium in its pure form is used in the medical industry to cool the large magnets in MRI scanners. With the shortage there was some controversy over the use of helium in balloons but John Lee, the Balloon Association’s Chairman informed the BBC that the helium used in the balloon industry is not pure and does not deprive the medical profession of the gas.
Helium for balloons is a different product; it is impure and gaseous and recovered as a by-product of supplying liquid helium for the MRI. Impure, gaseous helium cannot be used directly in medical MRI scanners or in other applications that use super-conducting magnets. B-Loony fully supports the recovery and reprocessing of helium to ensure that every opportunity is taken to recycle and reuse this important resource.
B-Loony can arrange the delivery and collection of your cylinder. Helium gas comes in 6 sizes of traditional and lightweight cylinders and they will advise on the best size for the number of balloons you have ordered.
