The Outstanding Promo Show 2013 hailed as great success

Posted in Company News on Tue 28 May 2013

On Tuesday 21st May, Outstanding Branding hosted its very first Promotional Products show - at the spectacular Tower of London. With over 30 host suppliers at the event in the New Armouries, 3 top quality guest speakers, and over 125 attending merchandise buyers, the scale of the day was nothing short of outstanding.

“A lot of hard work and preparation went into the day, so we were thrilled with the high turnout and fantastic feedback,” said Sales Director, Andy Thorne. “We couldn’t have asked for a better day, and with over 300 quality quotes to follow up on, we couldn’t ask for a better follow up.”

The day started at 10am with an initial entrance of over 40 attendees in the first 20 minutes. The morning speaker, Gordon Glenister, who spoke on the Power of Promotional Merchandise, said: “Wow what a great event. Outstanding Branding did an excellent job in bringing together an array of suppliers to showcase some great promotional products. I spoke to some visitors who really were amazed at what’s possible with promotional merchandise. The venue at the Tower created a great backdrop particularly for those that hadn’t been for a while or even at all.”

The lunchtime slot was the turn of star of BBC One’s The Apprentice, Adam Corbally, who entertained the visitors and suppliers with a lively speech on the perils of printing products as he experienced in his first task on the show.

“I was honoured to have been asked to speak by Outstanding Branding at such a grand venue as the Tower of London,” Corbally said. “The day had a great atmosphere and loads of energy, a great experience for everyone I spoke to and what a fantastic way to network whilst taking in the tour of the Tower. I am sure we will be working together again soon.”

In the afternoon, acclaimed author Scott Addington spoke on how a pair of promotional headphones created $1million of qualified sales leads and $250,000 of sales, which was extremely well received.

As well as the speakers, the 32 suppliers provided fantastic product displays, and even demonstrations on printing processes which the attendees found extremely beneficial.

“Great location at the Tower, it was really useful to see so many promo items in one place and have the opportunity to discuss options direct with the suppliers. A worthwhile event, that has generated a number of good ideas for future campaigns,” said one attendee.

Suppliers too found the day worthwhile:

“What a great day – well done and thanks,” said Dorian Tranter of Toppoint, “May I congratulate you all on such a great event – By far the best one I have ever been to and by far the best contacts.”

“We just want to thank our fantastic suppliers, all of whom made this event possible,” said Sarah Penn, Managing Director of Outstanding Branding. “We know we have nothing without the commitment and support of our supply chain, so can’t thank them enough for everything they put in – from Essential demonstrating digital transfer screen printing; to Senator Pens who organized a graphologist and ‘make your own pen’ competition; to Liquid Lens who demonstrated live doming techniques; and everyone who contributed to the fantastic goody bag we were able to put together. We hope the suppliers enjoyed The Outstanding Supplier Supper (#TOSS) that we put on at The Bowler Pub and kitchen in Farringdon the night before the event – again, we just wanted to show our appreciation by making sure they all had hangovers for the day itself!

“We were also really proud of the efforts of the hardworking Outstanding Branding team, who helped make the day such a phenomenal success.”
