The Gospel According to James Caan
Serial Entrepreneur, James Caan, shared his extensive experience of building businesses and making the most of opportunities at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster last night.
'James Caan: Thirty Years of Business Insight' was arranged by The Evening Standard Business Connections, and was held in the beautiful auditorium at the trans-denominational Emmanuel Church. It was a chance for business people and entrepreneurs to hear Caan speak at some length about his history, achievements, and positive vision for the future. Following his inspirational talk, the floor was opened up for a Q&A session, to allow attendees to ask questions of one of the BBC’s popular Dragons’ Den businessmen.
“The opportunity to hear one of the UK’s most successful business people talk, and give the audience insights into how he has successfully grown more businesses than most people have had jobs, was one not to be missed,” said Sarah Penn, Managing Director of Outstanding Branding, who attended the event. “I was particularly inspired by his positivity, even in the face of the current economic climate, and also his commitment to mentoring the next generation of business people. SMEs are well known to be the biggest employers in the UK; James Caan sees growing small businesses as the way to take the country out of recession, and with the growth we’re currently experiencing at Outstanding Branding, we aim to be taking more people off the government’s unemployment figures ourselves!”
As well as supporting the Government’s StartUp Loan initiative, which offers loans to school leaving entrepreneurs, Caan is a passionate believer in taking the positives from every situation and not talking down the economy. This is an attitude mirrored by Outstanding Branding, who are continuing to grow despite the reports of doom and gloom.
“We take every opportunity to learn from the best in all aspects of business, as it’s critical to us that we continue to grow and develop – the Q&A session was great too as it showed how many other businesses in London are thinking in the same way as Outstanding Branding” commented Sarah Penn.
