Tetley launch promotional mug cosy campaign

Tetley is running its first gift-with-purchase promotion for four years, giving away free promotional knitted mug cosies with special 160 teabag packs of Tetley tea.

The campaign, created for Tetley by Nottingham-based Together Agency, launched this week and offers shoppers free mug cosies with images of the popular Tea Folk characters. There are three designs of mug cosy to collect, featuring the Gaffer, Tina and Sydney Tea Folk characters.

Andrew Pearl, Tetley's director of shopper & customer marketing, explained the desirability of free giveaways: "The appeal of instant free gifts and the impact they can have on sales make them ideal for a limited-period promotion."

The campaign also features a social media element to promote consumer interaction; promotional packs carry the #CosyCuppa hashtag, encouraging tea lovers to share a selfie with their snug mug.
