Sweets, rocks, flip flops and Industry Events
The promotional merchandise industry is a mixed bag of products, trends and events. On this website this month we’ve seen product news re. delicious traditional sweets and rock being offered for summer promotions, on the trends front flip flops have featured in our research as both the third most requested product and the product with fastest growth in requests. But, being British, rain ponchos and umbrellas also feature in both those lists too.
Industry events have featured positive news and slightly disappointing news too. On the upside, the bpma revived its popular race night at Windsor (23 May) and combined it with presentations from Paul Bufton, General Manager of Warner Brothers UK, speaking about Harry Potter and other leading franchises, and Brian Binley MP, who shared his thoughts on the implications and changes on the Bribery Act.
Also on a positive note, plans for Incentives & Promotional Marketing Live! 2011 (21-22 November, Olympia, London) are progressing well. See this month’s feature.
On a slightly disappointing note, PROMTA has rescheduled ‘The Event’, which was to have taken place on 8 June in Telford. But this is a temporary setback and we are awaiting news of new dates in the near future.
And, talking of the future, next month’s feature focuses on confectionary, drinks and girly gifts, so if you would like your product featured in the editorial, just let me have a brief description and a pic. Click here for further info and submission guidelines.
In the meantime, if you have any other news about your company or its products, or an observation on the promotional products industry, just email the details to me at editor@promotionalmerchandise.org.uk.
