Posted in Industry News on Mon 17 Sep 2012

Trade Only Ltd, the leading marketing and information solutions provider for the Promotional Product Industry and the British Promotional Merchandise Association have announced that chart topping group JLS and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke are to star at the British Promotional Merchandise Association (bpma) Annual Awards Dinner on the middle night of the Trade Only National Show 2013.

The prestigious evening takes place in the E.on Lounge at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK on the 23rd of January during the Trade Only National Show. It is the event of the year for the promotional products industry. Last years glittering dinner saw more than 800 people dance the night away to chart topper and TV star Olly Murs.

Both of next year's acts have enjoyed huge chart success with many No. 1 singles and chart topping albums between then.

Nigel Bailey, Event Director for Trade Only Ltd said: "We are thrilled to have been able to secure such high profile acts to appear at the dinner. We are looking forward to what will be the most amazing event our industry has ever seen."

Neal Beagles, Chairman, bpma added "The bpma, are delighted to have such big name artists as JLS and Alexandra Burke performing at our Awards Dinner. This is an evening for the whole industry to relax and have fun. I really believe that Alex and the boys will make the evening truly one to remember!"

Alexandra Burke rose to fame after winning the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. She currently stands as one of the most successful winners of The X Factor. After winning The X Factor, Alexandra released "Hallelujah", which is the European record holder for single sales over a period of 24 hours, selling 105,000 in one day. The song also became the top-selling single of 2008 in the UK and the UK's Christmas number one. The single sold over one million copies in the UK, a first for a British female soloist. Her debut album went straight to number-one on the UK album charts and spawned four number-one singles with "Bad Boys" becoming a platinum seller. More chart and live success followed.

Alexandra has also appeared as a judge on the X Factor and is heavily involved with charities including No Child Born To Die, Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion and has been involved in two UK number-one charity singles, "Hero" with her fellow X Factor finalists and as part of a celebrity super group, Helping Haiti.

JLS (Jack the Lad Swing) are Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, J.B. Gill and Marvin Humes. They were runners-up of the fifth series of the X Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke.

Following their appearance on the X Factor, their first two singles "Beat Again" and "Everybody in Love" both went to number one in the UK. The band's self-titled debut album has sold over one million copies in the UK. JLS won awards for British Breakthrough and British Single ("Beat Again") at the 2010 BRIT Awards. They have also won several Mobo awards.

"The Club Is Alive","Love You More", (the official single for Children in Need in 2010) and "She Makes Me Wanna" have all reached number one in the UK. The band also had three further number ones with the X factor Finalists (“Hero” and “Wishing On A Star”) and with Helping Haiti. JLS have a new single out in October and their latest album “Evolution” is released 5th November. Organisers Trade Only report that more than half the tickets have already been sold and are advising anyone wishing to attend to take advantage of the early bird prices and secure their places now.

Seating is once again being planned on a first come first served basis; organisers are certain that tickets will sell out!

Ticket prices will rise in October…if there are any left.
