PROMOTA Members Vote ‘No’ To Merger
PROMOTA members delivered an overwhelming verdict to keep their association truly independent at yesterday’s (19 May) Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM).
Almost three quarters of those who voted said they wanted PROMOTA to remain an independent association – and backed the board’s vision for the future.
PROMOTA is the trade association which represents manufacturers, importers and distributors in the rapidly expanding promotional merchandise sector.
The board – headed by new chairman David Webster – will now begin work on introducing a host of forward-thinking changes to ensure the association leads the way with fresh ideas, where members are the key drivers.
Mr Webster said he was “absolutely delighted” at the members’ decision – hailing it a turning point in the history of the association.
He said, “This is the beginning of a new era for PROMOTA and our members. The board would like to express their thanks to members for their support, and for them being such an integral part of a landmark decision. The board is delighted with the outcome of the vote as we believe that this is the right decision for the good of PROMOTA, our members and the wider industry.
“We will now be working tirelessly to better highlight what PROMOTA stands for, and people should look out for a host of new initiatives. This will bring new benefits to our members, continuing to provide value for money and working on new initiatives to ensure that PROMOTA continues to be the leading, forward-thinking trade association for the industry.”
