New appointments to the BPMA board
The bpma is delighted to announce two new appointments to the bpma board: Viv Blumfield and Angela Wagstaff.
For the last 33 years, Viv Blumfield has enjoyed managing two successful distributor companies and is still as passionate about the promotional merchandise industry today as she was in 1979. Having sold The Regency Collection to Dowlis in 2004, she went on to become Managing Director of this leading UK business, responsible for 60 staff in 2 locations. In 2011, utilising all that knowledge and experience, she formed Pro-Motion Consulting and is today working with both suppliers and distributors in the industry to help them achieve better results for their business in a variety of ways, including mentoring and business guidance, increasing sales and profitability, improving efficiencies, tenders, and training.
Viv comments, "I am proud to be a member of the bpma and am keen to use my 33 years’ experience to raise the profile of promotional merchandise to end-users and help achieve the industry’s target of £3bn. I am a staunch supporter of the new education programme, as, during my career in the industry, I have never been able to attain a qualification to prove my capability, but now promo-marketers will have that opportunity. By joining the Board, I would like to use my knowledge to help suppliers and distributors work together to deliver the most creative and professional solutions for the end client."
Angela Wagstaff started her working life as a Qualified Chef and, over a four year period, built up a very successful Catering business which she then sold in favour of more socialable working hours. This was closely followed by 8 years managing a network of Accountancy Recruitment offices. She enjoyed frequent travel to the US as part of her training role whilst managing a large portfolio of well-known London based clients such as Citibank, Christies, BBC and Emap, to name but a few.
Angela then became a Business Development Consultant with a strong emphasis on marketing for a wide range of prestigious clients, all aspiring to strategically grow their businesses. This was where Angela saw the importance of core brand awareness and the value of promotional merchandise. She also qualified as an Investors in People advisor and worked as a National Training Assessor for several years.
She is now a Director of Allwag Promotions, which she runs with her husband, Alan Wagstaff and has done since 1999. Responsible for motivating and training their team, Angela is continually developing Allwag Promotions to constantly exceed customers expectations. Her strategic marketing plans & enthusiasm to harness the power of the internet through website development have aided Allwag Promotions' annual expansion, enabling the team to grow and Allwag Promotions to achieve its goals.
Angela loves a challenge and better still, a fundraising challenge! Not only for her childrens' local schools (where she was Chair of Governors & raised £28,000 in 4 years) but also for other great causes. Having made a parachute jump to raise money for a Cancer unit, she has since completed 3 Moonwalk marathons and many other weird and wonderful fundraising activities.
Angela commented, "As a beneficiary of the BPMA’s excellent support and guidance over the past 13 years, I feel privileged to have been asked to join the Board. This will enable me to give others the benefit of my professional experience gained from within both the Marketing industry and as a Trainer/Assessor. I feel it is vital that we all strive to maintain the integrity of our industry so that we can all enjoy the anticipated growth."
Chairman of the bpma Board, Neal Beagles commented on the appointments: "We are delighted to welcome two well-known industry figures to the bpma board and we look forward to working with both Viv and Angela."
