It's the winning that counts!

Posted in Editors Column on Wed 24 Feb 2010

It’s often said that ‘it’s not the winning that counts, it’s the taking part!’, a quote usually attributed to the losers (or in these PC days ‘ the non-winners’). There’s nothing like an award or prize to generate that feel-good factor, and this issue is full of that.

We cover the bpma Awards, the Sourcing City awards, plus the chance to win a prize in the Incentives & Promotional Marketing – Live! survey.

Our feature looks at Sports Accessories in the run up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South AfricaTM and looks at the array of goods (caps, whistles, fans, cool bags, etc) that can be used to promote sports events in general or gain brand awareness at such events. But don’t be caught out using the World Cup symbols or even wording inappropriately, read our Top 10 Tips on the use of World Cup ‘Official Marks’ and words.

But helping buyers find suppliers and helping our suppliers win new business is what this website is all about and the sales team has introduced a New Cost-per-Lead Credit Model On The Quick Quotes Lead Generator, which goes live in March 2010.

This new model brings with it some exciting changes that have significant benefits to both suppliers and promotional buyers.

Each lead generated by the Quick Quotes Board will now be sent to a maximum of three companies only.

This benefits the promotional buyer, who will receive fewer quotes, making their decision quicker and easier, and the distributor, because the lead is more exclusive, so there is a much higher chance of securing the business. So this one is a win/win situation!

But news is also important on this website, so keep it rolling and thanks to all those regular contributors who keep us up to date with their latest products. Next month we are looking at eco friendly, recyclable & recycled products and as most suppliers seem to have a ‘green’ range now, it promises to be a lively feature.
