Wild Thang supports Go On it’s Liverpool
Wild Thang supported Go On it’s Liverpool by providing the Volunteer t-shirts free of charge, which were used in the official launch and recruitment drive. The recruitment drive was a huge success recruiting over 500 digital champions who will then Give an Hour to help people go online who have never used the internet before. As you know the internet can help people stay in touch, save time & money, look for job opportunities & have fun. In Liverpool there are 100,000 people who have never gone on the internet – about 25% of the population.
Wild Thang MD Andrew Dwerryhouse commented: “We love supporting campaigns that really want to make a difference to our local area. Wild Thang does what it can from a social responsibility aspect, we know by supplying things like the branded t-shirts it can play a really important part in promoting the project & helping it succeed. As part of the same project we have also committed to become local digital champions to help encourage & support people to transform their lives & get online.”
UK Digital Champion Martha Lane Fox Commented: “ Thank you for sponsoring the Go On It’s Liverpool T-shirts, over 500 Liverpool digital champions signed up between the 19th-31st October & the t-shirts played an important part in both raising awareness about the campaign and signing up so many volunteers.”
