The Feel-Good Factor

So, here we all are; basking in the reflected glory of our triumphant athletes recently returned from the Olympics in China!

Nineteen gold medals is a good haul for Team GB and 4th place overall in the medal table is commendable. But how long will the euphoria last?

Let’s face it; we can’t live on reflected glory. We know in our hearts that it won’t mend our leaky economy or make up for the bleak summer weather.

The realist in us understands that if we want to overcome the current situation, or not succumb to it in the first place, it’s a case of ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’ and that’s what lots of suppliers are doing. Instead of curling up into a ball and hoping the whole financial turmoil will blow over, they are innovating, promoting and exhibiting at NIS (see Preview).

But the truth is good news does cheer us up, and there is plenty of good news out there. In fact there’s quite a lot on this site!
