Spinning flowers for Big IF London sends Hyde Park into a spin
On Saturday 8 June, tens of thousands of people gathered in Hyde Park for the Big IF London rally. They were there to make a massive noise in demanding that G8 leaders - meeting in Northern Ireland on 17-18 June - take action to tackle global hunger and save the lives of millions.
Promotional merchandise helped to create the phenomenal centrepiece for one of the most spectacular scenes to appear in London’s Hyde Park in recent times.
The event, organised by the Enough Food For Everyone IF campaign, featured exciting speakers, artists and activities. At its heart was a breathtaking installation containing 250,000 spinning flowers supplied by CHX Products, one of the leading UK manufacturers of fast turnaround plastic promotional products printed in full colour. The installation featured two million petals representing the two million children who die because of hunger each year – lives that can be saved if world leaders take action at the G8 Summit.
During the day, 45,000 IF campaigners filled Hyde Park, many of them adding their own spinning flower to the installation.
