Royal Engagement
The royal engagement will be a boost for the country’s morale and for the promotions industry too.
Well, that’s my view and if you agree or disagree, then just add your comment below or email me mailto:editor@promotional-merchandise.org.uk.
At the moment the media frenzy is focused on the village of Bucklebury where Kate Middleton’s family lives and on Clarence House, but whilst the press cameras are clicking and the reporters are seeking further news snippets (Will the wedding dress be sourced from a British designer? Will the venue be St Paul’s Cathedral or Westminster Abbey?) the promotions industry will be gearing up for the doubtless surge in memorabilia for the current engagement and, of course, for the wedding too.
If you are a manufacturer who has products ready to sell or in the pipeline, then let me know, and if you are a promoter keen to seek memorabilia then do you know the rules and regulations for adding your logo to a piece of royal memorabilia?
We’re looking into this and will publish advice from leading industry figures shortly.
But in the meantime, what’s your take on the news and it’s impact on this industry.
Can the UK industry cope with the demand especially as the wedding comes just a year before the London Olympic Games? Will this be the boost this industry needs to lead us out of recession?
I can’t wait to hear your views.
