Moving On
For those who haven’t heard, PROMOTA members have voted against the merger with bpma. Now that the decision has been made, I think it’s time for the whole industry to move on and certainly both organisations have come up with new plans for the future and even better ways to serve their members and the wider promotions community.
The next industry events to look forward to are the ISP Awards, May 26, and the COGS awards (sponsored by Incentives & Promotional Marketing – Live!) on 17 June which recognise those behind the scenes in the promotions industry.
The warmer weather has finally arrived, which fits in well with our feature on sporting promotional goods and promotional clothing, plus accessories such as key rings and wristbands, not forgetting badges. We’ve also featured lanyards which clearly contain a hat, which can be used to shield the wearer from the sun or the rain.
Still on the sporting theme, with Wimbledon just around the corner, you’ll be pleased to know that you can get a tennis hamper, complete with Bollinger Champagne and logoed tennis balls, for use at your own corporate entertainment event or to send out as gifts or prizes (see news page). And of course, as we highlighted in our February feature, there has been lots of promotional merchandise produced to celebrate the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa in June.
It seems, whatever the weather, whatever the sporting event, the promotional merchandise industry can always come up with a huge array of ways to turn the elements or the events to your advantage by offering suitable products for branding.
