Interviews, Events, News and Views
Welcome to the July newsletter from Promo e-News. You are reading this alongside some 20,000+ other industry insiders who have subscribed to this e-newsletter (that doesn’t include those who visit the site, which attracts some 60,000 hits per month). But you don’t have to be just reading it; you can be featured in it too.
Whether you are a buyer or supplier of promotional merchandise, your views count on this website. In fact, we are going to be taking a ‘birds eye’ view of promotional merchandise, and I’m asking you all to take a look what’s on offer at your petrol station, in your supermarket, etc., and what’s on your desk, in your pocket, handbag or briefcase and tell me what you think are the best, worst, funniest or most effective promotional items you have come across so that we can feature these real life promotions on the website.
But back to this issue, one industry insider who has been in touch with her views on the industry is Annette Scott, and we feature an interview with Annette, who is a very well known and respected figure in the industry. She’s currently Principle Executive Officer and Company Secretary of PROMOTA, a leading industry association. She concludes that, “The time has come to break the mould and make a positive impact for change for the better.†Do you agree … or not? Let’s have your comments.
Of course, we would normally all be getting ready at this time to year to visit the National Incentive Show, which has been the Autumn highlight of the industry calendar for many years. Sadly, it’s not to be this year, and I’m going to miss the opportunity to network with so many colleagues and new faces in the industry. However, things are hotting up for the Promotional Marketing Exhibition in April 2010 and the organisers have some special offers for early bird bookings (see news section).
And, of course, there’s also the PROMOTA show to look forward to 1&2 March, 2010, also featured in the news.
They sound a long way off, but like Christmas, they’ll be here before you know it.
