Industry Reaction to the Royal Engagement

“After the brilliant news about the royal engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the memorabilia machine swung into action. Production of every imaginable commemorative product, from tea towels and pens to mugs, is in top gear.
“Royal Crown Derby has had designs ready for some time and has already started production. Even ASDA says it will have mugs on sale within days. The appetite for commemorative gifts will be just as great as 1981 when Charles and Diana were married. The promotional industry and the UK economy are due a boost and wedding memorabilia is indeed a welcome start for 2011.”
