Writing this month’s feature ‘Walking Billboards’ (featuring promotional clothing, lanyards and badges), one theme kept popping up – and, no, it wasn’t MP’s expenses. It was service.

In today’s financial climate price is very significant, but it’s obviously not the only factor astute buyers are taking into consideration or equally astute suppliers are promoting.

Whether it’s the ability to service large orders, as demonstrated in the feature by ID&C, or Promo2u’s service offer (which ranged from investing in tooling to provide samples, to providing an electronic invoicing service) which won it the tender for badges for Transport for London, or the commitment to service outstanding service made by Team Colours, service is obviously an important part of the promotional merchandise mix.

The environmentally friendly element is ever present too in the feature and in the news where we report on solar powered signs. Healthier eating is on the agenda from GroovyChocolate with Fruit&Nut option.

All these services spring from two things: firstly the clients’ demands and secondly the suppliers’ ambition to meet and even exceed or pre-empt these demands and therefore win the businesses.
