Viv Blumfield announced as new BPMA Chairwoman
The bpma has announced the appointment of Viv Blumfield as the new Chairwoman, taking over from Neal Beagles. For the last 32 years, Viv has been involved in successful distributor businesses, initially running her own company, The Regency Collection, for 25 years. The company was sold to the Dowlis group and Viv went on to become Managing Director of Dowlis in 2006. In September 2010 she moved onto the main Altitude Group Board as Director of Partnerships. In 2011, Viv started a new company Pro-Motion Consulting Ltd, to utilise the experience and knowledge gained in the industry to assist companies involved with promotional merchandise.
Viv Blumfield comments “I am delighted and honoured to be voted the next Chairman of the BPMA and would like to thank Neal Beagles for the valuable contribution he has made to the advancement of the association. We will continue with the programme of end-user engagement to ensure that marketers appreciate how promotional merchandise can be used effectively against other forms of marketing and to raise the profile of the bpma and its members to the marketing community. But first I want to be confident that the industry really understands what the association stands for and that we clearly communicate the benefits of membership to both suppliers and distributors. We will shortly be sending out a survey regarding membership and it would be very much appreciated if you could spare a few minutes to complete this, as your comments and feedback will help us shape the bpma of the future.”
Outgoing chairman Neal Beagles commented, “I’ve enjoyed my time on the board and working with some truly excellent individuals. The bpma is in a great place now particularly with one of our greatest achievements launching – the bpma professional development programme. Our determination to raise standards and promote the value of our discipline remains at the forefront of what we do and as President I’m keen to support Viv in continuing this message. I would also like to thank outgoing president Gill Thorpe for her dedication to the bpma both in the roles of Chair and President and as a Board Member."
